This series speculates on how perfect life-energy from the source, or “divine consciousness,” gets earthy by the time it spreads and devolves throughout the cosmos all the way to our material world. Big points of the Terra series are summarized below. What is perhaps the main point about living on Earth—or “bottom line”—is at the end.

The source at the center of everything creates and nourishes the entire cosmos with life-energy or “divine consciousness”… an infinitely rich bundle of vitality and win-win motivations. The life-energy devolves as it spreads out-beyond from the source, through many dimensions and universes, until it reaches Earth with its shadow, which converts some of the life-energy to its opposite: abundance vs scarcity, knowledge vs ignorance, service vs self-interest, love vs hate, awe vs fear, trust vs doubt, and so on.

There’s no pain or dysfunction or struggle in the perfect source that rests at the center of our being. Most of our daily dysfunctions and struggles come from Terra and its shadow—emotional residue from many thousands of years of predatory, parasitic, and competitive relationships among Earth’s living things.

The more we can attune ourselves to the pure life-energy from the source (for example, through meditation and decency), the less we’re affected by the shadow and its troubled influences… and the more we resonate with teachings of spiritual masters like Mohammed and the Buddha, or Jesus, who said, “Be in the world but not of the world”.

01 — The Source: We Can Only Imagine

The major religions all have a mystical component that’s focused, first and foremost, on a close personal relationship with the source—especially through practices like meditation and contemplative prayer.

Hinduism has the richest tradition of meditation, so it makes sense that Hindu mysticism has an especially comprehensive and concise understanding of the source, which it calls Brahman. The source is:

• The highest universal principle, translated as “that which never changes—knowledge and infinity.”
• The only true reality that bonds everything together as one.
• The same as atman (the soul that resides at the center of everything).
• Hidden from us by maya—the illusions and dramas of carnal living that captivate our physical senses, or carnal consciousness.
• Made accessible through meditation, which opens us to finer levels of consciousness leading to the source.

Buddhism, an offshoot of Hinduism, focuses less on the source itself and more on the essence of the source… what many Buddhists call “the universal life force.” Which I believe is the same as “life-energy.”

The western religions—Christianity, Islam, and Judaism—also have a rich sense of the source, which they call God, Allah, and Yahweh, respectively. There’s a stronger consideration of noble qualities like love, truth, mercy, and compassion. The source, for western mystics, is:

• Both the substance and the creative force of the entire cosmos.
• All-powerful, all-loving, all-knowing, and merciful.
• Timeless, eternal, without beginning or end.
• Everywhere, always, beyond the constraints of time and space.
• Filled with truth and goodness.
• Beyond the perception of the five senses.
• Self-evident and doesn’t need to be “proven.”

02 — Symbiotic Relationships Across the Cosmos

Terra has a complicated, maybe unique symbiosis (the ways living things get along with each other). Evidence suggests that most of the cosmos flourishes on relationships that are win-win and live-and-let-live… what scientists call “mutualism” and “commensalism.”

Most Earth relationships are that way too—at least the finer ones are—but we also have to contend with various kinds of win-lose scenarios, such as parasitic, predatory, and competitive relationships. It’s those win-lose relationships that stir up fear and malice—creating Earth’s spiritual shadow and setting Terra apart from just about every other world in the cosmos. There’s some pretty good evidence to support that… not just evidence of blissful spiritual realms flourishing in countless spiritual universes, but also of vast extraterrestrial civilizations in our own galaxy that are kind and respectful and work tirelessly to get planetary civilizations like ours to join them.

Why haven’t those galactic civilizations already invited us to join them? Simply because the fears and doubts and animosities that spin out of our troubled symbiotic relationships make it impossible. We don’t resonate with their calm, peaceful way of life. If we can ever become a win-win, live-and-let-live world without parasites, predators and competitors, we’ll be able to join the great civilizations.

Meanwhile, Terra will continue to be a rare world of love and beauty blemished by struggle and strife.

03 — Money Money Money: How It Mimics Life-Energy

Money is an artificial life-energy that we use here on Terra to create and nourish our social systems and our lives. The real stuff—life-energy from the source—creates and nourishes everything throughout the cosmos. There are differences in the way the real stuff and the fake stuff are distributed and in the way they work:

• Life-energy is simple in its distribution. Emitted constantly and freely by the source, it belongs to everyone and everything everywhere, since we’re all part of the source.
• Money is complicated in its distribution, provided by governments and their banks here on Terra and managed according to bristly economic and political principles—democratic, autocratic, capitalistic, socialistic, communistic, Islamic….

At the same time…

• Life-energy is complicated in the way it works (there’s an understatement!)—spreading boundless vitality, love, and knowledge to everything throughout the cosmos.
• Money is simple in the way it works; it just represents the relative value of everything associated with people and their social systems.

The more effort we put into attuning ourselves to pure life-energy (through meditation, prayer, decency… ), the less we’re obsessed with Earth’s illusory dramas… such as money. And then our finer spiritual vibration becomes a homing signal to paradise after we die.

04 — How Our Material Universe Came To Be

Consciousness creates reality.

Life-energy from the source is a sort of “divine consciousness” that provides creative potential throughout the cosmos. Everything is made of and nourished by life-energy. Everything has an outermost body (in our case, a physical body or a physical planet), and that outermost body contains many nested versions of itself in subler dimensions (as shown in the first diagram above).

Everything leads back (or in-beyond into finer dimensions) toward the source.

Religion has pretty much known or believed this across the ages:

Everything emerges from (or was created by) the source (God, Allah, Brahman…) and its life-energy (holy spirit, prana, shakti, universal life force) that manifests in countless ways to provide everything with vitality and the potential to evolve. 

Science (as explained in article #08) might be moving toward that conclusion as well.

05 — Emotions: When Body and Spirit Blend or Bristle

Nowadays there are three popular ways to define emotions:

1. Scientifically, emotions are products of our body (with its hormones, its DNA, and especially its brain),
2. Psychologically, emotions are products of our body and its mind (or consciousness, which is like the brain’s software), and
3. Spiritually, emotions are products of both our mind (or spirit, which is the real, indestructible you and me that lives forever) and our brain-driven body (which is just our mind’s meaty, makeshift earthsuit for this lifetime).

I lean toward #3, in which the body and spirit live in two different realities. The body is built for stressful living on Earth with all its drama, and that includes contending with the predatory, parasitic, and competitive relationships among living things, including us humans. The spirit lives concurrently in various spirit realms associated with Earth—most of them with very little stress and drama. The mind or spirit has been “assigned” to stressful Earth for this short lifetime. In which case, the general rule is:

• When our body resonates and blends with our finer spirit (in times of low drama, low stress), we feel positive emotions.
• When our body bristles with and deviates from our finer spirit (in times of high drama, high stress), we feel negative emotions.

That’s probably the general rule, even if it’s a bit oversimplified and there are no doubt many exceptions, such as stress that is directly caused by hormonal imbalances in the physical body.

06 — How Pure Love Gets Earthy

Pure love from the source gets devised along its way to Earth, where it continues to shine in the soul or atman at the center of everyone, while bristly sparks of earthy passions flare up around it from our dense physical body… passions for worldly things like money, power, food, drugs, and sex.

During a lifetime we still have pure love shining as an inner light at the center of our being, but it’s largely obscured by the dramas going on around us that stir up our hormones and passions and captivate our five physical senses.

We can mitigate the effects of Earth’s drama when we dedicate ourselves to practices like contemplative prayer and meditation, but the earthy passions never go away completely as long as our spirit is confined to the physical body here on Terra.

07 — Ethics Shape Us, Morals Let Us Shine

There seem to be two main things that keep a group strong and stable:

• Morals come from inside us (or in-beyond of us) in the form of finer spiritual motivations, and
• Ethics come from the social groups around us.

Morals are what every living thing throughout the cosmos (presumably) uses to chart a stable course in life. Morality means:

• To understand (to have a general sense of) the perfection of the source with its built-in motivations for love, kindness, gratitude, and desire to serve,
• To acknowledge that perfection,
• To devise ways to make our lives (and our world) as perfect as we can in the present circumstances, and
• To act accordingly.

… as The Seven finer beings told our INIT group in 1996 through the telephone answering device of our Luxembourg colleagues, Maggy and Jules Harsch-Fischbach:

Ethics, on the other hand, are created largely outside of ourselves, by our groups and by society. Their purpose here on Terra is to try to keep things straight in a tangled world. They spell out what’s appropriate or inappropriate, right or wrong. They include household rules, social norms, government laws, international standards, and other rules of proper behavior that form a vast, complex web of right and wrong throughout the world.

We need both ethics and morals during a lifetime, for different reasons.

• Ethical living protects us from Earth’s dangers (and from being dangerous to others) by urging us to make the right (ethical) choice, which might not always be the right moral choice.
• Moral living attunes us to the perfection of the source so that by nature we tend to make the right (moral) choice, which might not always be the right ethical choice.

Competition is a good example of the moral/ethical dichotomy. Living on Earth often calls for a degree of competitiveness—trees compete for sunlight, animals compete for food and mating rights, and we humans compete for all sorts of reasons—which is ethically fine in most modern societies—sometimes necessary. However, competition is morally wrong (in the strictest sense of the term “morals”). Competition generally has a win-lose outcome… and losing is at odds with the source, which flourishes on win-win, live-and-let-live relationships.

08 — Physics on Earth and in Spirit Are Worlds Apart

Physics on Earth is built largely around matter, energy, space, time, and gravity… and how they affect and comprise everything we can perceive in our material universe, from the very small (subatomic particles) to the very large (galaxies).

Scientific principles at the edge of the frontier include quantum physics, string theory, emergence, entanglement, non-locality, dark matter/energy, gravity (the perennial mystery), and black holes. Together they suggest that Terra is just one of many physical and spiritual worlds—many versions of each other—that are superimposed over each other, sharing the same “space” at this particular “time.” In a nutshell:

• String theory suggests that quantum particles have copies of themselves (waves of different vibration in a sort of multidimensional string) in as many as 7 parallel (superimposed) dimensions.
• According to quantum theory, when two particles become entangled, they share certain physical properties and behaviors even when far apart from each other, suggesting that things are conjoined when they are “spiritually” resonant.
• Non-locality is based on the phenomenon that waves and particles can change when we simply observe them, suggesting that life-energy (the consciousness of the observer) is a creative force.
• Some 95 percent of our material universe consists of dark energy and dark matter, simply meaning that we can’t perceive it. Hence the word “dark.” So most of reality is beyond our perception and understanding.
• Gravity defies certain natural laws that apply to the other three basic forces (electromagnetism, weak nuclear force, and strong nuclear force), and it seems to originate from somewhere beyond our material universe, a place where the laws of earthly physics don’t apply. Gravity is the weakest of the four fundamental forces here on Earth, but it’s so inconceivably strong along the borders of a black hole that it bends time and space.
• Black holes (again, “black” simply means they’re beyond our perception and understanding) suggest that there’s a vast cosmos of other universes (which probably exist beyond time and space in subtle, superimposed realms), and those parallel universes exert a constant pull on the structures and energies of our universe, beckoning them in-beyond toward those finer realms.

Understanding those realities at the frontiers of earthly science might someday give us a better understanding of the spiritual composition of the cosmos.

A subtler “perfect physics” throughout the living cosmos seems to operate on simpler principles that are based largely on life-energy (or consciousness) and resonance. As I see it…

• Life-energy in its purest form is the perfect, nonvibrating essence of the source that creates and nourishes everything everywhere with vitality, purpose, truth, love and other motivating forces that we might call “perfect consciousness.”
• As it leaves the source, the life-energy begins to devolve—vibrating slower and slower—as it moves into denser realms that become increasingly complicated and illusory. In other words, the perfect consciousness of the source becomes imperfect as living things adapt to their worlds and universes.
• Again, life-energy (or consciousness), whether perfect or imperfect, is the primary force that creates, shapes, and nourishes everything throughout the cosmos, for better or worse.
• Resonance occurs among entities when they vibrate in harmony with each other’s consciousness, wherever they happen to be in the cosmos, whatever attitudes happen to be wrapped up in the consciousness in that particular world at that level… as told to us in a (very faint, unfortunately) spirit communication through a radio receiver in 1994:

• Everything in the cosmos knows innately—somewhere deep within—that the more we can resonate with perfect consciousness of the source, the more we’ll enjoy vitality, purpose, truth, and love. Everything yearns to realize its oneness with the source and to forge a conscious connection.

09 — Our Blissful Spirit’s Wild Ride on Terra

When our spirit chooses a lifetime on Earth, we know it’s going to be a wild ride. Let’s look at the overall process of:

• Crossing over.
• Enjoying many blissful worlds.
• Feeling close to the source.
• Returning to stressful Earth? Really? Why??
• Reincarnating… or not.

This article is full of testimonials about life on the other side by people who awakened in beautiful worlds after they died and then shared their experiences with people on Earth in ways that I believe are reliable and truthful, even if a bit mind-boggling.

Main Point, or Bottom Line

If we were going to wrap this all up into one concise idea, it’s probably this:

There are no good guys and bad guys on Planet Earth. There are just 8 billion perfect, brilliant human souls in the world, each with a physical body and a spiritual shadow that urge them to do imperfect things once in a while. We all do the best we can, and we’re all in this drama together. Terra’s wild ride is often bumpy—sometimes even brutal—but for most of us, most of the time, it’s a life of love, inspiration, and achievement, with a bit of excitement thrown in. If we can dedicate ourselves to helping and supporting each other, finer beings throughout the cosmos will smile upon us, and our own refined spirit will awaken in paradise after we die.
