Fixing America (4): A Wrap-Up of Basic Income and Wealth Tax

A wealth tax coupled with a basic income program would ensure that the poor, many of whom are now homeless and/or drowning in debt, would get their heads above water while the brunt of the tax burden would be carried by the rich, who can afford it. It would quickly bridge the ugly chasm between America’s super rich and super poor. This is probably the most rational and just solution to America’s current economic crisis: A basic income program funded by a wealth tax…. Continue reading

Fixing America (3): More Thoughts on Basic Income

The more I learn about wealth and poverty and the human mind, the more excited I become about instituting a Basic Income program here in the States…. Continue reading

Fixing America (2): Basic Income, One Possible Solution

To Americanize the Swiss (basic income) program, and to keep things simple in our calculations, imagine giving every adult American, say, $1,000 a month in basic income. That income alone would raise most people above the poverty line and would keep everyone else at least near the line. Continue reading

Fixing America (1): The Problems

The REAL issue is not the differences and the divides between the rich and the poor. The real issue is the living conditions of the less fortunate. Society can flourish as long as the poor, as well as the rich, have access to the basics of modern living… which include food, clothes, housing, health care, transportation, and communication…. How Northern Europe Does It Right

If the Danes are the happiest country in the world, it’s because they take care of their people. The USA has become an unhappy place in recent years, largely because the rich take care of themselves by taking control of government and industry… and the swelling ranks of poor are neglected…. Toward a Transparent World… Edward Snowden and Friends…

Beyond the material realm—in the worlds of spirit—consciousness is transparent. Between lifetimes on Earth, when we return home to those astral and ethereal realms, our thoughts, emotions, and intentions are observed clearly by those around us. Only by living in the material world can we experience the strange illusion of secrecy…. which brings us to Edward Snowden…. Continue reading

Exploring Addiction

During our recent vacation we visited an open AA meeting in a small town. The next day, over lunch, we discussed the experiences shared by the men and women and jotted down some notes. Here’s a gist of what they had to say…. Continue reading

The Worst of the Worst: Nonfunctioning Alcoholism

Nonfunctioning alcoholics can’t hold down a job or keep a marriage together and they alienate friends. They may get into fights, wreck cars, interfere with other people’s lives, pass out on the floor. As “easy targets,” they lose everything over time, and through it all, they’re unaware of their situation. They think they’re doing okay in life and it’s the people around them who have the problems. They’re ostracized by society, eventually becoming homeless, indigent, derelict…. Continue reading

Rewriting the DSM, the Bible of Psychiatry

Rewriting the DSM… an excellent opportunity to begin to introduce spiritual influences into psychology and psychiatry—specifically, the presence of many invisible spirits flourishing among us physical humans and their effects on our thoughts and feelings. Continue reading

Are You an Extrovert or an Introvert?… Me? Well….

My introversion explains a lot about my work in ITC and afterlife research… my theories about spiritual reality… my view of human beings as noble-savage creatures in a noble-savage world… my belief in a politics of good will… my struggle with public presentations and group efforts (including the miraculous INIT association that I helped establish late last century)….
