Fixing America (10): Marching Toward the End Time

My research suggests we’re approaching the end of the Second Epoch… and it won’t be the first time humanity has experienced an “end time.”… Conditions on Earth today are destabilizing quickly when you consider geography, morality, politics and, I’m sure, various other gauges… all of which suggest that we may indeed be on the threshold of the next end time. Continue reading

Protecting Earth from the Wrath of Marduk

Last fall a contingent of astronauts and cosmonauts visited the United Nations in New York to urge international collaboration in setting up a defense system to protect Earth from getting struck by asteroids… shrapnel from an explosion, some 4 billion years ago, of a planet called Marduk. The fact that the Babylonians had a god of the same name was probably not mere coincidence…. Continue reading

Fixing America (5): Basic Income and the Fertility Rate

The yellows, oranges, reds and purples indicate countries with precarious population growth, which would have to be gotten under control before Basic Income (or any other economic solution) would really help…. Continue reading

Fixing America (4): A Wrap-Up of Basic Income and Wealth Tax

A wealth tax coupled with a basic income program would ensure that the poor, many of whom are now homeless and/or drowning in debt, would get their heads above water while the brunt of the tax burden would be carried by the rich, who can afford it. It would quickly bridge the ugly chasm between America’s super rich and super poor. This is probably the most rational and just solution to America’s current economic crisis: A basic income program funded by a wealth tax…. Continue reading

How Northern Europe Does It Right

If the Danes are the happiest country in the world, it’s because they take care of their people. The USA has become an unhappy place in recent years, largely because the rich take care of themselves by taking control of government and industry… and the swelling ranks of poor are neglected…. phs13: Finally… Good Politics

Basically, we have to do savage things to survive in a savage world… but the more we do that, the more difficulties we’ll have later on… as we try to get settled into a light afterlife paradise after we die and leave the Earth. If we attach ourselves too heavily in our savage qualities during our lifetime, our spirit will migrate to darker, more troubled realms after we die… where it will feel more “at home”…. phs12: Who Decides What?

(Politics and the Human Spirit – Installment 12) Continuing the discussion from Part 9 (Managing the World in the 21st Century), perhaps the most important question of our time is: Who, at what level of society, should decide what? Before … Continue reading

phs10: The Carnal Line Between Noble and Savage

Maybe the best way to distinguish the “noble” from the “savage” in human nature and human affairs is to answer a simple question: What drives the angels? While angels, or ethereal beings, aren’t perfect in the “God” sense of the word… they’re much closer to perfection than we humans are… so close, in fact, that from our earthly point of view angels seem omnipresent and all-powerful. They seem to embody all of the nobility of God…. Continue reading

phs8: The Economy

Modern economics is far too complex and unwieldy to explore in depth in a single article… or even in a single book. So… what I’ll do here is to quickly strip economics to its natural core, present a simple ratio that will provide a foundation for a stable economics of the future, and then flesh out the framework. I’ll weave in some modern economic concepts along the way, to keep things in perspective. Continue reading
